Dear Prospective Student,
"Develop a passion for learning. If you do, you will never cease to grow."
– A. J. D’Angelo
It has been said we are a passionate people – about everything. Central to that passion is our thirst for knowledge and wisdom. We are sometimes called The People of the Book, which is in part a reference to our lifelong passion for learning and erudition. Learning is a big part of our Jewish heritage. It is central to who we are as a people.
This year we have put together a wide range of workshops, special events and classes so you can learn more about an area of interest or explore something completely new.
You can spend an evening with a politician or discuss a best seller with the author. In addition to the many workshops, seminars and special events, this year’s classes and offerings include: Hebrew (all levels), history, self-defense, self-help, psychology, dance, painting, couples’ workshops, cooking and politics, to name a few.
The classes/workshops/events at AJU are experiential, meaning they cover more than just the subject matter. Our speakers/teachers are passionate about their areas of expertise – and that passion is infectious! You’ll be immersed in a field of study with a group of like-minded individuals in an open, positive environment. Our programs are also a great opportunity to meet new people, make new connections and explore a mutual area of interest with people from the Los Angeles community and beyond.
It is my sincere hope that, given our wide range of topics and offerings, you will find a class or event that sparks your passion to learn. New experiences, mastering new skills and subjects not only help us grow, they challenge us, make us stronger individuals and ultimately build a stronger a community.
